As was reported in the MacAlasdair Clan for September, Clan McAlister of America will be awarding four $750 scholarships, two for 2008 and another two for 2009. The CMA Board of Directors approved the recommendations of the Scholarship Committee at the July Planning Meeting in Savannah. It is felt that a scholarship program is a way to heighten the interest of our youth in education and in the CMA.

        The scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school seniors or college freshmen who are children or grandchildren (natural, adopted, or step) of an active CMA member whose dues are paid.

        Applicants will need to submit personal information, a one to two page autobiographical sketch, three letters of recommendation, and a high school or college transcript with SAT/ACT test scores. A detailed, printable application form is available here.
