I belong to the CMA several years ago. My gggfather was Quencey McAlister
my Grandfather was Turner Dolphis McAlister. My father was Lexie B. McAlister. My cousin, Charles McAlister lives in Florida & has done extensive research on the name. Does anyone know who the "freeway"
in SanAntonio, Texas is names after.??

Interesting site. I know little about my Scottish heritage other than my grandfather, James Winning McAllister, came to the U.S. From White Inch (now part of Glascow), Scotland sometime around 1900. He settled in Crafton, PA.

I have very little information regarding my family on the McAlister side. As I understand from my Mother, my grandmother on my Father side was Alice McAlister. I was told she imigrated from Scotland. She married John William Marson (my grandfather). He was an imigrant from England in 1907. Apparntly Alice passed on around 1937. i would enjoy learning more about my McAlister side of my family.

I am a descendant of (1)Andre McAllister, born 1640 in Antim Ireland...he would be my gggggggg grandfather. Going forward in time the rest are (2)Angus, (3)John,(4)John, (5)Ananias, (6)Samuel, (7)Silas, (8)Joel and (9)Alice (my grandmother born in Stoneham Maine. Hoping to find others in this blood line.

My grandfather's name is Wayde H.McCalister which his dad's name was D.H. (Doc) McCalister came from Texas in early 1900's to Oklahoma Norman where he attended college at the University of Oklahoma and met my grandmother. They resided in Oklahoma City. I would be curious to know of other McCalister in the area or had relatives that may have moved to Texas late 1800's to early 1900's or Oklahoma. I've been told his heritage is Scott/Irish.
