Wonderful site! William McALLISTER (1720 - )was the 2nd great grandfather of husband of 3rd great grandmother; last family member to carry the name was my great grandmother Florence (Flossie) Lelah McAllister (1889 - 1931). I have always been drawn to this side of the family, and have been proud to be associated with The Clan since my high school days.I hope to get to Scotland and the Isle of Skye and Glenbarr Abbey in the near future!

Hi, I am a descendant of James and Susan Keenan McAllister, who arrived in the US from Glasgow in the late 1800's. They settled in the Manistique, MI area before moving to Bellingham, WA, where they are buried. Proud to see such a large group!

I have been doing genealogical research since 1984, but it was not until last year that I began to do research on my McAlister lineage. I have noticed many derivations of the name as I have done my research, but was never more surprised than today when I found my Joseph McAlister in J25. I joined Clan Donald last year at the games held in Murray, Ky. I am so happy to be able to know what my lineage is and will be submitting my membership form ASAP so I can continue to learn more about my Scottish roots and make more friends as I go. Thanks for such an awesome site. ;) :o

Would love to find out more on Mahala McAlister's line. She was born in 1827 in KY to Joseph McAlister and Elizabeth Goodnight(?). Married a Elijah Middaugh in 1847 in Scioto County, Ohio.
