Comments: Hello cousins, I was researching my ancestor Col. Alexander McAlister and the family role in the revolutionary war, when I came across this site. I am about to find out which, Whig or Tory. My first hint has been the Colonel served in the NC Senate, so he was probably a Tory. If anyone has reference please feel free to advise. Alex

Comments: I have been researching the McAllister branch of my family. I've gone back to my 5x Great-grandfather (William) who was born in N. Ireland (I believe) and died in Salem, New Jersey. He was married to Susannah Peak.
This is all a major work in progress and I am so glad that I found this site. I do hope I am able to confirm much of the information that I've uncovered.
Looking forward to a continued relationship with this site. :)
