SRP (AC) Admiralty Court Records The following abstracts of Admiralty Court Records were made by the NC Scottish Record Project by George Stevenson and others under the sponsorship of William C. Fields, a member of our SRP. That project was designed to link the 1739 Argyll Colony to their Argyll roots a mission of the Cumberland County NC Genealogical Society of which Mr. Fields continues to be it’s leader. These records were copied from the Scottish Record Office in Edinburgh known as the West Register House onto microfilm #Z.5.279 now at the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh, NC. (Unfortunately that microfilm is very difficult to read and the following abstracts from the index book were reportedly made by Mr. Stevenson of the NC State Archives. As I recall these were the only references to McAlisters among that group of records. WCV)
