Research done by Fred B. Huntington at Penobscot Marine Museum Searsport Maine. Reportedly had 8 kids. "Montville 7 R- 2-555" recorded across from "pub. 22 Jan 1814" which is interpreted as being his marriage date. Found in the 1850 Census in Burnham.

The Trask Family of Jefferson had an interesting connection with Captain Kidd and his pirates. The following is taken from two sources

Centennial Celebration of the town of Jefferson 1906 and the Wiscasset in Pownal Borough a History of the Shrine Town and the Salient Historical Features of the Territory between the Sheepscot and Kennebec Rivers, By Fannie S. Chase 1967. Tradition has been rife with tales of pirate buried booty secreted in every cove and sand dune all along the coast from Campobello to Kitty Hawk by Captain Kidd. The Foundation for the belief that treasure lay beneath the Sheepscot River was that about 1725 Samuel Trask when a boy, was stolen by the Indians on the Penobscot from his parents in Salem Mass. For Many years he was among the missing. While among the Indians he made himself very useful as a huntsman. His Skill as a Huntsman as well as seamanship brought him to notice of Baron de Castine who purchased him from his captors and employed him on board his vessel. Trask was taken from Castine by an English freeboater and transferred to the companship of Capt. Kidd with whom he had been accustomed to visit on the shores and creeks of the Sheepscot to cut spars from the high headlands. On the capture of Captain Kidd and the crew, Trask returned to his former home on the Sheepscot and made a clearing on the east side of the river near Folly Island, in what was afterward called Freetown now Edgecome opposite Wincasset. Captain Trask having lived a long time among the Indians of the Penobscot Tribe became quite skilled as a physician and when he came among the early settlers of Freedom he was known as Dr Trask. Here he lived until his death in Aug. 1787. Three sons of Samuel Trask, Jonathan, David S. and Thomas settled in Ballstown about 1795. Their farms included large tracts of land in Jefferson. South Jefferson was known then as divided into two parts Trask Town and Ridge. The school was known as Trask School and the Church was Trask meeting house. The Erskin family lived nearby.

Notes for Henry Martin McAllaster:

He was known as "H.M." McAllaster, and in 1843 he left Antwerp, New York and relocated to Concord, New Hampshire where he lived for awhile. Sometime prior to 1849, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts and later married. In the spring of 1858 they moved to Brooklyn, New York, but they left there in the fall of 1858 and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Not long after this, they moved on west to Des Moines, Iowa, and H.M. McAllaster went into business here. They lived there until his death, which occurred while he was east buying goods.

"H.M." and Rebeca had two sons, William, born in Boston, Massachusetts; the second son, whose name is not known, was born in Des Moines, Iowa.

Rebecca A. (Peasley) McAllaster remarried and the whereabouts of herself and their two sons is Unknown in 1887.

158. James Edwin McAllaster was born on August 19, 1829 in Morristown, ST Lawrence NY. He died on October 31, 1900 in Lyons Kansas. James was a farmer.

In the mid 1850s he left New York and ventured west to settle in De Moines County, Iowa. In 1872 James decided to leave Iowa and move to Kansas. It was in Oct of 1872 that He, His Wife, and most of their children settled on a farm near Lawrence, Kansas. They left their eldest Son Warren James in Iowa to care for Kimball Chase, his grandfather. Later, in Feb 1884 they settled in Rice County, Kansas, near Mitchell.

He was married to Laura Adlissa CHASE on January 25, 1855 in Middletown, Iowa. Laura Adlissa CHASE was born on December 13 1836 in Little Valley Cattaraugus NY. She died on August 19, 1920 in Lyons Kansas.

159. Octavius Warren McAllaster was born on January 11, 1834 in Morristown, NY. He died on December 26, 1911 in Lawrence , Kansas.

He left home at the age of 15 to learn the trade of printer. After he learned the trade he went to the young town of Lawrence, Kansas where he decided to settle. It was here he met Ella Perry Jones and they were married 10 Sep 1862. They had no surviving Children. They lived there until his death.

It was during the Civil War that Lawrence, Kansas was raided by General Quantrill's Raiders. The town was nearly burnt to the ground. Two-thirds of its people were killed. O.W. McAllaster survived that raid, and he tells us about it in the Kansas Historical Society Record, "MY EXPERIENCE IN THE LAWRENCE RAID" Excerpted from "Collections of the Kansas State Historical Society, 1911-1912", Edited by Geo.W.
